Epsom-Chichester Lions Club
The Epsom-Chichester Lions Club was founded in 1989 to serve the communities of Epsom and Chichester. A group of like-minded citizens organized under Lions Clubs International with intension of providing various services to the area that were not being fulfilled at that time. Various fund-raisers were held and a treasury fund was gradually built with the help of the local citizens. The club began fulfilling its’ mission to assist sight and hearing impaired individuals and youth programs. The club continues with its’ original mission and has added other community programs when the need arises.
Eyeglassees and Hearing Aids for those individuals who are truly unable to afford them are provided by the Epsom-Chichester Lions Club. A clinic is held by Lions Multiple District 44 on a monthly basis in Manchester and Concord for eye examinations and a voucher is forward to Lenscrafters in Concord to purchase a pair of glasses. Hearing applications and recommendations are provided by a Audiology practice in Concord. Anyone needing either service is encouraged to contact Phil at 224-4411 x 149. As the most important mission of the Lions is to support services to the visually impaired, we support the Fidelco Guide Dog Program to raise funds for a Guide dog for a New Hampshire individual. We also support the New Hampshire Association for the Blind. Blind Bowlers Weekend and a Winter Outing for the Blind are held yearly for New Hampshire citizens.
You will see the Lions of Epsom and Chichester during the year as they are asking your help with their fundraising efforts. Please inquire as to how you too can be part of this worthwhile organization. You will also see us beautifying Epsom and Chichester on Route 4 when we work removing trash. The parents of the local children are familiar with our efforts with the Peace Poster Contest, Flag Essay Contest, early childhood eye-screenings known as KidSight, Soccer team sponsorship, College Scholarships, and support of Eagle Scout projects.
